PrivoMail - FAQ

Welcome to the frequently asked questions page. If you have a question that is not listed here, please reach out to info@privomail.io

1. How does the service work?

PrivoMail works by using what are called virtal aliases. A virtual alias is an email address that automatically forwards all emails sent to that alias to a predefined forwarding address specified by the user.

2. Why should I trust this service?

We do not ask you to trust us blindly. Therfore, we always recommend creating accounts with email addresses that do not include your real name or any other identifying information about yourself. As for what is done with the emails that get forwarded to your aliases, we do not touch them in any way what so ever. However, we do recommend not to use PrivoMail for mission critical or highly confidential communication. Eventhough we do not inspect or edit forwarded emails, it is always a good idea to not trust these types of communication with any service provider other than one that you control completely.

3. If I delete an alias, can I get it back?

By default, a deleted alias cannot be recovered. However, if you contact support at info@privomail.io specifying your deleted alias, we can add the alias to your account in an unverified state. You will then receive an email asking to activate the alias.

4. I am receiving spam on one of my aliases, what can I do?

You can disable the alias by clicking on disable just underneath of the alias email address on your account page. Disabled aliases will not forward email anymore until you click on enable again. This is a perfect way to shield yourself from spam but keeping the alias available in case you need it.

5. I have a suggestion, how can I contact you about it?

Suggestions are always welcome! Please send any suggestions to info@privomail.io
